FAQ

I’m under 18, can I get my parents to sign for me?

No.

Do you do piercings?

Not at this time.

Do you sell gift certificates?

We have discontinued offering gift certificates as of August, 2023. Previous gift certificates will be honored.

I am not able to use my gift certificate. Can I just get the cash?

Gift certificates don’t function like a piggy bank. They are purchased as a token for a service. The good new is, they don’t expire or lose value over time!

Can you tattoo over scars (or stretch marks or old tattoos)?

Absolutely. Our artists work with your body to camouflage, enhance, or cover whatever you have.

I’m not an artist - can you draw something up for me?

We are classically trained fine artists and are very experienced at turning your ideas into art.

Can you squeeze me in?

We book months in advance and really can’t accommodate walk-ins. If you are here from out of town or have extenuating circumstances or a very small tattoo in mind, talk to us and we can maybe work something out. But we can’t make the days longer or clone ourselves.

We can put you on a waiting list if you have an appointment or are getting ongoing work. Keep an eye on social media for last minute openings and flash days.

Please respect that there are people who are waiting for their turn, and don’t ask us to squeeze you in because you feel like being spontaneous.

What if I pay extra, can I get in sooner?

No, and this is not a good look for you.

Can I split the day rate with my friend(s)?

No. The day rate is a special rate for an individual who is wanting to sit and focus on large-scale work. Multiple people require multiple set-ups, multiple consultations, multiple designs… you get the idea.

What forms of payment do you take?

Cash or e-transfer.

I’m shy (or am getting an intimate body part tattooed) can I have a private session?

Yes! Please let us know and we’ll make arrangements to either tattoo you in a closed-off area or closed shop.

Do you do cosmetic tattooing?

We provide all kinds of services like working with scars, birthmarks, filling in irregularities in skin pigmentation, alopecia, and post-mastectomy tattoos. Please contact us for more information.

We recommend going to an aesthetician for procedures such as eyeliner and mircoblading (eyebrows).

Do you do cover-ups?

All the time.

Why don’t you have a phone?

Because we usually have our hands full and can’t answer it anyway. We did have a phone for a while but the fact that we never answered it pissed people off and so we thought we’d stop paying for a phone that never really helped us provide the best service anyway.

What’s with the name Molotov & Bricks?

It is a line from this song by The Coup that speaks to us because it is about being able to fight for what you want, with the tools available to you, no matter if the power you are fighting seems much bigger than you.
